Just 35 miles east of Orlando, Brevard County prides itself as the home of Kennedy Space Center, the birthplace of U.S. manned spaceflight; Port Canaveral, the second-busiest cruise port in the world; 72 miles of beautiful Atlantic Ocean beaches; and the largest collection of endangered wildlife and plants in the continental United States
The Titusville area turns out to be a good location to get to many different places such as Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, Orlando International Airport, Port Canaveral, Daytona International Speedway, Jetty Park and Cocoa Beach just to name a few. The main reason for that is traffic. We don't have a lot of it and that makes it nice getting somewhere. Another reason we're in a good location is that it's easy to get to the major roadways that can take you to all these places.
For example, I-95 runs right through Titusville, so going north to Daytona is an easy 45 minute drive or going south can take you to SR 528, a.k.a. The Beachline, to go east out to the Port or Cocoa Beach.
Take it west and you're going to the attractions in and around Orlando. Disney is an easy drive of 55 minutes or so- usually with light traffic if you take the 417 south of Orlando to get there.

For those who have an RV or wish to camp we have some options available in the area.
At the high-end we have The Great Outdoors RV Resort. This is an RV Resort designed for short-term stays but also have luxury homes with permanent residents. It is very nice and caters, we think, to the senior crowd so kids might not have much to do there.
The Great Outdoors
Another option for staying in an RV could be Seasons In The Sun or the KOA located north of Titusville at exit 223. They are just a short drive away and we've heard they are nice places to stay as well and more family oriented. They have good reviews, too.

RESTAURANTS
Although we wouldn't consider Titusville a leading culinary destination, we do have a few very good dining establishments and eateries here in town and others not too far away. Instead of listing every restaurant, how about a list of top picks among the locals? If you're worshipping with us, just ask one of us for good places to eat.
HOME COOKIN'
Cracker Barrel- The tried and true is at the top of the list. You already know what they have...
Steve's Diner- This is a mostly American, some Greek food restaurant. Several of us eat there and they have pretty good food. If you want to go there, look to the big white dry erase board at the front of the diner. Thats where the good food is. They do have really good fried chicken. One of the very few places in town that have it.
Honeysuckle- Southern Style Home Cooking- This is a great little restaurant located in Mims right next to Louis's BBQ Shack (below). They have a little bit of everything including good ole fried chicken. Try the hamburger too. Its very good, served on a ciabatta roll. They have many other comfort foods. Their fries are fresh and handcut. Enjoy!

BBQ
Now we're getting somewhere.
Sonny's Real Pit BBQ- Titusville's only BBQ restaurant remains a favorite among locals as they deliver good, consistent BBQ most every visit. Several of us eat there frequently and its a good place for a family meal that won't break the bank. Their brisket, smoked chicken, pork and ribs are all good choices. The "Big Deal Combo" is always a favorite for lunch.

ITALIAN
For those of you who like a little Italy, we have a few to choose from.
Vine and Olive- This is a very popular casual dining Italian restaurant here in Titusville. They have great dinner entrees. Service is consistently prompt and several of us dine there regularly. They prepare classic Italian dishes. You won't be disappointed.
Kelsey's Pizzeria- This is one of the better pizza establishments here in town, though we have others that are really good too. They have classic Italian fare as well, but they have a great variety of pizza and calzones. The calzones are really good. This is a great place for lunch or dinner.
Mama Rosa's- If classic NY style pizza is what you're after, this is the place. This full service restaurant serves up the classic dishes in an excellent way but the pizza, we think, puts it on the map. It's very good. Mama is known for her homemade marinara sauce.

MEXICAN
El Leoncito- This is a favorite among locals. They have a little bit of everything and it's all good. They also have Cuban dishes, Vegetarian dishes and lunch specials. Try everything from their Chimichangas to their Tacos de Papas Ranchero. Its all good. The fajitas always seem to be a hit. Here's their website: http://elleoncito.com/
